Jordan Watt, a rising apprentice star has excelled within the Cornwall Glass Group, demonstrating the value of apprentices within the work force. Over his three years with the group, Jordan has rapidly progressed to a branch assistant, promoted to second in command!
Jordan began his career with Cornwall Glass back in October 2011 as an apprentice glazier based at the groups Redruth Glass Centre. Over the two years based here, he gained valuable experience in a number of fields including; general glazing incorporating double glazed unit fitting, balustrade and balcony glass fitting, roofing structures, the cutting of splashbacks, processing and general handling of glass. Within this time, Jordan also completed his NVQ.
Gaining more experience by working in other Cornwall Glass Groups branches including Newquay Glass Centre & Penryn Glass Centre, Jordan learned new skills such as sandblasting, U.V. bonding, Ritec coating application and leaded light work to name a few. Throughout this period, he was been given more responsibility within the branches, organising the daily operations of the branch.
Recently, Jordan has moved to Ray’s Glass Centre in Penzance to further his glass & glazing knowledge and experience. He has fast become an asset in his new role as second in command within a well-established branch, as well as helping the branches new apprentice, Daniel O’Connor, passing on his experiences and knowledge of his apprenticeship journey.
