Window Fitter – Glazier

 1 Position: Bristol

Bristol BS4 – Full Time

Cornwall Glass, Bristol is part of Cornwall Glass Group which has been established for 40 years and built a great reputation, both throughout the Southwest and in the local area. We specialise in providing quality glass products such as Insulated Glass Units.

We are looking for a full-time, experienced Fitter/Glazier to work approximately 40 hours a week.

This key role within our existing team will look to engage with both domestic and commercial customers to measure, specify and install the very latest energy efficient ranges of glass and glass related products.

Many projects we undertake include:

• Commercial Aluminium, curtain walling and doors

• PVCu windows, doors and conservatories

• Balustrading

• Bi-Fold Doors

• Various glazing including traditional methods

• Splashbacks

• Fire glass

You need to be able to show both leadership and the ability to work as part of a team.

Experience for this role is essential with a sound knowledge and understanding of glass uses for energy saving and solar control through to fire protection and acoustic noise reduction glazing.

You will need to show integrity, ambition, desire, and pride in your work and carry out your role with care and great communication skills at all levels. Cornwall Glass has been established for nearly 40 years and had s built a great reputation, within the glass industry and throughout the Southwest. We specialise in providing quality products such as Insulated Glass Units and a wide range of Processed Glass.

We are looking for a full-time, experienced Window Fitter/Fenestration Repair Engineer to work approximately 40 hours a week.

Cornwall Glass Newquay part of the Cornwall Glass & Glazing Group is seeking an experienced Glazier to compliment their existing team. The successful applicant will need to be a fully experienced time served glazier conversant with all types of glazing.

This position would ideally suit those with experience in the following:

• Surveying

• Putty Glazing

• Domestic & Commercial Glazing

• Balustrading

• Glass Doors including Shower Doors

• Glass Splashbacks

• Mirrors

• Glass Handling, Cutting

• Sandblasting & Leadwork

To successfully secure this opportunity, you must:

HGV Driver

1 Position: Highbridge

Highbridge Somerset  – Full Time

Experienced Lorry Driver

Cornwall Cornwall Glass  has been established for 40 years and has built a great reputation, both throughout the Southwest and in the local area. We specialise in providing quality glass products such as Insulated Glass Units.

We are looking for a full-time, experienced Lorry Driver to work approximately 40 hours a week.You will be completing all tasks and duties required for driving around the local area, as well as some long-distance jobs.

Tasks and duties will include:

carrying out routine vehicle checks loading the lorry which may also entail using a forklift, crane or other lifting equipment making sure that the load is correctly placed and is secure driving vehicles to their destination and unloading according to requirements issuing delivery notes maintaining a log book with details of trips, including rest breaks on long trips customer service willingness to work in the despatch area when not required to drive.

To successfully secure this opportunity, you must: have relevant lorry-driving experience have a HGV licence hold the relevant CPC qualifications be reliable, punctual and self-motivated be flexible have a great attitude and strong work ethic be capable and confident in your ability.

Ideally, this position would suit someone with experience both driving and glass handling with local area knowledge but some distance driving may also be required.

Apprentice Glass Operative

1 Position: Plymouth 

Plymouth, Devon  – Apprenticeship

Main Purpose of Job:

To become a confident skilled Glass Operative and achieve a relevant NVQ (2/3) and Technical Certificate along with Key Skills and practical experience.

  • Overview of Role:

Within the branch there are a variety of glass processing tasks you will be expected to undertake (with training) which include:

Toughening Furnace

Insulated Glass Unit Line

Georgian/Leads

Dispatch

There will also be the need to carry out some basic administration.

Training & Education

There will be thorough on-the-job-training. In your early days with experienced glaziers/glass operatives. Once both the glazier/glass operative and you feel confident you will then begin to be very hands on.

You will be expected to complete:

NVQ Level 2 – PMO/Glass Processing and;

NVQ Level 3 – Glass Processing

Apprentice Workshop Operative

1 Position: Exeter

Exeter, Devon  – Full Time

Cornwall Glass Exeter are looking for an Apprentice Glass Workshop Operative.

This role would suit someone interested in becoming part of the glass trade.

The successful candidate will become a confident skilled Glass Operative and to achieve a minimum NVQ Level 2 in Glass Processing, a Technical Certificate along with Key Skills and practical experience.

As an Apprentice Glass Workshop Operative you will be carrying out the following glass processes:

  • Cutting
  • Polishing
  • Drilling Holes
  • Bevelling

You will need to have a positive attitude and be aware of the risks around you associated with glass.

You will be required to lift and carry various pieces of glass to enable you to carry out the role.

Some simple administration will be required along with some general customer service skills.

You will need good literacy and numeracy skills.

Full on-the-job training will be provided.

This overview is not exhaustive and you may have other related tasks which you would be required to carry out within the role.
