Group Engineer
Position: Full Time
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Cornwall Glass Manufacturing has been established for over 40 years and has built a great reputation, both throughout the Southwest and in the local area. We specialise in providing quality glass products such as Insulated Glass Units. We have an exciting opportunity and are looking for a full-time, confident experienced electro-mechanic engineer to work 45 hours a week and also be willing to attend breakdowns during night shift which may also be in the way of telephone support as opposed to having to visit the site at night..
The successful candidate must have a proven track record along with relevant qualifications (BTEC Level 3 or above and 18th Edition). You will be expected to lead/assist with the installation, fault finding, repair and general maintenance of glass manufacturing and processing machinery whilst keeping a high standard of health & safety.
The successful individual will need to be computer literate. Initially the role will be based in Plymouth; however there may be occasions where you will be required to visit other sites within the group to assist with repairs, which may involve travelling with overnight stays.
You should be able to understand and show experience of:
• Electrical Wiring
• Mechanical Assembly & Repair
• Electrical Control Panel Testing and Commissioning
• Onsite Installation, Commissioning and Machine Modifications
• Fault Finding and Support
• Routine Maintenance
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programming
• Technical Drawings
• Electro Pneumatic Hydraulics Systems
• Onsite upkeep and general maintenance
• Computer software and systems (including MS office)
This overview is not exhaustive and you may have other related tasks which you would be required to carry out.
You will need to show integrity, ambition, desire, and pride in your work and carry out your role with care and great communication skills at all levels. A self-starting problem solver with a positive attitude, with the ability to work alone (self-management), and work well with others (including mentoring apprentices).
Driving licence essential.

Position: Full Time
Location: Truro, Cornwall
Cornwall Glass & Glazing Ltd has been established for over 40 years and has built a great reputation across the Southwest
Have you got what it takes to join our team?
Due to expansion and increased workload, we are recruiting for a permanent, full time, experienced Glazier in and around Mid-Cornwall to work approximately 40 hours per week with additional Saturdays on a rota basis.
Experience in glazing is preferable as we undertake the full remit of glass installations, although, we would consider applications from individuals who have experience in a related trade.
We operate in both the commercial and domestic sectors and good communication is key when dealing with all our customers; as part of the role would be to survey and ascertain the customer’s requirements.
We under take installation of the following products on a regular basis and knowledge of these would be essential
- Replacement Sealed Units
- Traditional glazing including putty work
- Mirrors
- Shower Screens
- Secondary Double Glazing
Installation Knowledge of the following would be highly desirable
- Fire Glass
- Balustrading
- Templating
- Shopfront Glazing
- PVCu Windows and Doors
You need to be able to work within a small but productive team, show integrity, ambition, initiative and pride in your work with a right first time attitude.
Specific training for CSCS, IPAF, PASMA will be provided for the right candidate.
A full, clean driving licence is essential.
