Cornwall Glass & Glazing has taken delivery of eight brand-new transit vans and we have unveiled a new IT platform across our seven sites in the Southwest. Together, they represent a £500K investment and build on the high level of customer service our company is known for.
The eight Ford Transit vans are a key investment because they are fully kitted out with the latest racking and safety features.
“Ford Transit vans have served us well over the years, and we see these new vehicles as a significant investment in our brand,” Paul Garrard, Managing Director of Cornwall Glass & Glazing, said. “We’ve also invested in the latest safety and comfort features, such as cameras and air conditioning.
“We returned to Supertrucks for all the internal and external racking, so we are confident that all glass is transported safely and efficiently. We’ve worked with Supertrucks for more than 22 years now, and they are recognised as the leading brand, and it is nice to have the confidence to order products we know will last the lifetime of the vehicles.
“There is an environmental benefit to using the latest frails and racks from Supertrucks,” Paul continued. “Glass is loaded in such a way that requires minimal packaging, which helps us to reduce our carbon footprint and helps us to send less to landfill.”
Our new IT platform creates new efficiencies across all of our seven sites, linking orders, quotes and invoicing. This is the first step in a complete overhaul of our company’s internal processes, which precedes project and contract management, alongside the management of labour and transportation resources.
“We worked very closely with Highway Software to develop this bespoke solution, and we are already reaping the benefits,” Paul said. “For example, all data is only entered once into the system, which reduces the chance of human error, and we have better oversight of all orders, so we can progress them quickly, and keep costs to a minimum.
“They are linked to our accounting software, so invoices and accurate and on time. Also, we have got complete visibility of the whole operation, across all sites, no matter where we are based, which allows us to better co-ordinate resources that ultimately benefit our customers.
“The success of this project is thanks to our strong partnership with the team at Highway Software, including Roger Butler (who sadly passed away earlier this year) and Darron Parker-Redman who has worked tirelessly to support the training and integration of all our branches.
This investment at Cornwall Glass & Glazing is part of a £20 million investment our Cornwall Group has committed to spending on new property, new machinery, specialist fleet vehicles, and other new equipment over the next two years.
