Our fire glass presents a modern architectural alternative, allowing sense of space and light in residential and commercial environments without compromising safety.
Levels of protection, as designated by the European Standards, are measured in defined time periods;
- 30 minutes Integrity and Insulation 30 minutes integrity only
- 60 minutes Integrity and Insulation 30 minutes Integrity Only
- 90 minutes Integrity and Insulation 90 minutes Integrity Only
- 120 minutes Integrity and Insulation 120 minutes Integrity and Insulation
- 180 minutes Integrity and Insulation 180 minutes Integrity and Insulation
Our fire glass fulfils the requirements set by building regulations authorities and international fire test standards EN14449.
Fire glass is available for use with; doors, partitions, facades, roof glazing, sliding doors and windows.
Integrity and Insulation Fire Glass
This glass offers the maximum level of protection when designed for use in emergency exits, stairwells, floors and roofs. It achieves full thermal insulation with approximately 2% of heat transferring after 30 minutes for external and internal fire grade units.
Integrity Only Fire Glass
Offering a barrier against flames, hot gases and smoke the transfer of radiant heat is approximately 10% after 30 minutes when glazed in accordance with manufacturer’s specification. For use in IGUs doors and glazed partitions.
Pilkington Pyrostop®
We are approved stockists of Pilkington Pyrostop ® Fire Glass suitable for external and internal use. It is the accredited fire glass solution for protection from, heat, flames and hot gas.
Offering integrity and insulation, this laminated, impact resistant glass will provide protection up to Class 1 of BS EN 12600. Please note this level of protection is dependent on the thickness of the glass.
Pilkington Pyrostop ® offers vital, passive fire protection with optimum natural light quality and is the fire glass solution of choice for complete physically robust and fire shield glazing combination. In the event of fire Pilkington Pyrostop ® turns a cloudy, white opaque and provides an insulated barrier against flames, gases and heat.
Designed to provide; passive protection against fire to aid escape and fire-fighter access; to prolong the spread of fire through a building and onto neighbouring buildings; building regulation fire protection where required.

Pilkington Pyrodur®
We are approved stockists of Pilkington Pyrodur ® Fire Glass suitable for use in hard and softwood slim, light, timber frame profiles, steel aluminium and fire rated composite frames for external and internal applications.
Pilkington Pyrodur® offers up to 60 minutes integrity only, passive fire protection. It can combine impact and penetration resistance required in Document Q and Secured by Design applications if required.
Pilkington Pyrodur® benefits from 15 minutes insulation but is not recognised as a registered insulation property fire glass. If you require Integrity and Insulation Fire Glass, we recommend Pilkington Pyrostop ®

PLEASE NOTE
To ensure the expected fire performance is achieved, should it be called upon, fire or heat-resistant glass must always be specified as part of a tested and approved glazing system and installed by specialists. Cornwall Glass is a Pilkington Glass approved partner.
