Cornwall Glass Manufacturing recently hosted a Golf Day for our customers at the stunning Ashbury Hotel Golf Resort near Okehampton in Devon, which was spread across three beautiful courses.

Ashbury Golf Resort is located just north of Dartmoor, and the three courses our customers played on – Pines, Kigbeare and Beeches – all took in the amazing Devon scenery,” Commercial & Technical Director Angus Herdman said.

“Despite the inclement weather, everyone had a good day, and there were some surprisingly good scores given the inclement weather.”

Each course had a Nearest the Pin competition, with Callum Gunner from Corsham Building Plastics winning on the Pines Course, Will Veal from Camborne Joinery winning on the Kigbeare Course, and Mike Hoskins from Bristol Glass Processing winning on the Beeches Course.

Demonstrating that they could confidently pick their driver from their golf bag to hit the Longest Drive, even when conditions are wet, were: Brian Best from JJ Smith Joinery (Pines Course); Wayne

Wright from Saint Gobain (Kigbeare Course); and Andy Ewn from Okehampton Glass (Beeches Course).

The overall winners were Corsham Building Plastics (Pines Course), Harmony Profiles (Kigbeare Course) and MPS Glass (Beeches Course).

“We’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Saint-Gobain Glass for sponsoring this event,” Angus said. “It’s the first such customer event we’ve held since Covid, and we will now make this Golf Day an annual fixture in the diary.

“We’re going to extend the event from next year so that customers who don’t play golf can enjoy a day of shooting, archery and other activities.

“Our customers are now coming from further afield, and a big customer day like this is a great way to develop relationships and thank them for the business they pass our way,” Angus concluded.
