Electromechanical Engineer

FULL TIME 1 Position: Highbridge

Highbridge Somerset – Full Time

Highbridge based (and other areas such as Yeovil, Warminster and Bristol)

Cornwall Glass has been established for 40 years and has built a great reputation, both throughout the Southwest and in the local area. We specialise in providing quality glass products such as Insulated Glass Units.We have an exciting opportunity and are looking for a full-time, confident experienced electro-mechanic engineer to work approximately 40 hours a week.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record along with relevant qualifications.You will be expected to lead/assist with the installation, fault finding, repair and general maintenance of glass manufacturing and processing machinery whilst keeping a high standard of health & safety.

The successful individual will need to be computer literate. Initially the role will be based in Highbridge however there may be occasions to visit other sites within the group to assist with repairs.

You should be able to understand and show experience of:

• Electrical Wiring

• Mechanical Assembly

• Electrical Control Panel Testing and Commissioning

• Onsite Installation, Commissioning and Machine Modifications

• Fault Finding and Support

• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programming

• Technical Drawings

• Electro Pneumatic Hydraulics Systems

This overview is not exhaustive and you may have other related tasks which you would be required to carry out.

HGV Driver

FULL TIME 1 Position: Highbridge

Highbridge Somerset – Full Time


Cornwall Cornwall Glass has been established for 40 years and has built a great reputation, both throughout the Southwest and in the local area. We specialise in providing quality glass products such as Insulated Glass Units.

We are looking for a full-time, experienced Lorry Driver to work approximately 40 hours a week.You will be completing all tasks and duties required for driving around the local area, as well as some long-distance jobs.

Tasks and duties will include:

carrying out routine vehicle checks loading the lorry which may also entail using a forklift, crane or other lifting equipment making sure that the load is correctly placed and is secure driving vehicles to their destination and unloading according to requirements issuing delivery notes maintaining a log book with details of trips, including rest breaks on long trips customer service willingness to work in the despatch area when not required to drive.

To successfully secure this opportunity, you must: have relevant lorry-driving experience have a HGV licence hold the relevant CPC qualifications be reliable, punctual and self-motivated be flexible have a great attitude and strong work ethic be capable and confident in your ability.

Ideally, this position would suit someone with experience both driving and glass handling with local area knowledge but some distance driving may also be required.

Apprentice – Sales Administrator

FULL TIME 1 Position: Yeovil

Yeovil, Somerset Full-time

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team at Cornwall Glass, Yeovil.

Duties will include assisting with all aspects of administration:

Answering customer telephone calls
Resolving customer queries, liaising with production where necessary
Filing
Matching delivery notes and orders
Entering quotes and orders
Taking payment for orders
Running reports
Contacting customers via telephone with updates on orders
Sending order acknowledgements via email and fax
Any other reasonable duties connected with the role

The successful applicant should be:

• Confident IT user, familiar with Microsoft Products.
• Good standard of written and spoken communication
• Good with numbers
• Excellent attention to detail
• Organised and able to multi-task

We are looking for an Apprentice Glazier at our Exeter branch.

The successful applicant will need to be confident and willing to learn all aspects of glazing including:

  • Surveying
  • Putty Glazing
  • Glass Balustrading
  • Glass doors including shower Doors
  • Glass Splashbacks
  • Mirrors
  • Glass Handling
  • Glass Cutting
  • Sandblasting and Leadwork

In addition to the above, you may be required to work in other areas of the business once you’re working well within your role.

Glass Operative

FULL TIME 1 Position: Highbridge

Highbridge Somerset –  Full Time

An experienced individual is sought to carry out the following tasks within our busy production facility at Highbridge, Somerset:

  • Toughening of flat glass- to include furnace operation/loading and unloading /arising glass
  • Glass cutting- manual cutting and/or operating and breaking out an auto table
  • Manufacturing Double Glazed Sealed Units both on automatic lines and hand gunning

Ideally we are looking for experienced candidates however training on the job will be provided for exceptional candidates who have factory environment experience but no glass experience.

Glazier Fitter

1 Position: Launceston 

Launceston Cornwall – Full Time


Cornwall Glass has been established for nearly 40 years and had s built a great reputation, within the glass industry and throughout the Southwest. We specialise in providing quality products such as Insulated Glass Units and a wide range of Processed Glass.

We are looking for a full-time, experienced Window Fitter/Fenestration Repair Engineer to work approximately 40 hours a week.

This key role within our existing team will look to engage with both domestic and commercial customers to measure, specify and install the very latest energy efficient ranges of glass and glass related products. Many projects we undertake include:

  • PVCu windows, doors and conservatories
  • Balustrading
  • Bi-Fold Doors
  • Various glazing including traditional methods
  • Splashbacks
  • Fire glass

You need to be able to show both leadership and the ability to work as part of a team.

Experience for this role is essential with a sound knowledge and understanding of glass uses for energy saving and solar control through to fire protection and acoustic noise reduction glazing. You must also be able to survey and specify appropriately for our different array of clients.

You will need to show integrity, ambition, desire, and pride in your work and carry out your role with care and great communication skills at all levels.
